Pokerstars Rakeback ?
As an affiliate, I’m constantly asked if it’s possible to get rakeback at Pokerstars, and unfortunately, the simple answer is no. Pokerstars rakeback is absolutely impossible due to the way rakeback works. You see, when a poker affiliate refers a player to a poker site, the poker site in turn gives a percentage of the rake that they receive from the player back to the affiliate. So using Full Tilt as an example, if an affiliate refers a player to Full Tilt Poker, Full Tilt give up to 35% of the players rake back to the affiliate. Full Tilt then allow the affiliate to give up to 27% back to the player. This is what’s come to be known as rakeback, or less popularly, poker cashback.
The reason that rakeback is impossible with Pokerstars is very simple. Pokerstars don’t pay affiliates a percentage of their referrals rake like other poker sites do, so affiliates don’t actually have any rake to pay rakeback out of. Pokerstars only pay affiliates a one off commission fee for referrals. This isn’t actually a bad thing though in my opinion, as the less incentive people have to play at Pokerstars the better, due to Pokerstars having the most difficult opposition in online poker. After all, even though we all enjoy playing poker, I’m sure we’ll all admit that we prefer to win, so playing at a poker site with the most difficult opposition to win against really doesn’t make any sense at all. Especially when you consider that the poker sites and networks with easier opposition also support rakeback, so you actually have two ways to gain money.
