PokerStars VIP Club Rakeback – SilverStar, GoldStar, and PlatinumStar Status

The rate at which you earn FPPs will increase as you move up in VIP levels,but your VPP’s will not. Depending on the games, stake, and how active you are, your VIP level may increase or decrease. Everyone automatically starts at BronzeStar but it takes significant play to reach the top of SuperNova Elite. Anytime you earn enough to move up a level, you will not move up again until the following month. For example if you just joined PokerStars you are a BronzeStar. So your first month of play is March and you earn 1500 VPP’s. Then you will move up to the SilverStar (2cd) level in April. Now no matter how much you play in April you will be a SilverStar until the end of April.

SilverStar – 1,200 VPP’s in one month is your earn goal for SilverStar status. SilverStar is the first VIP level you earn too. Even a semi serious player can usually earn this level in one day. If you are just a small player, you can still earn this easily in your first month of play. Your FPP’s will now be earned at 1.5x the starting BronzeStar rate. You now qualify for SilverStar items including a $50 SilverStar bonus for 5,000 FPPs. You will need to earn 350 base FPPs within 90 days to clear the $50 bonus. Most players pass on the SilverStar bonus as it is not a great value. As you learn more, you will see the higher bonuses have a stronger value and are worth holding out until you reach higher levels. The $50 bonus only yields a value of $0.01 per FPP ($50/5,000 FPP’s), but many other bonuses at this level can yield a higher value of $0.015 per FPP. You can earn from 8% and 26% PokerStars Rakeback at this level, depending on stakes, games and VIP store purchases.

GoldStar Status – 3,000 VPPs in one month is your earn goal for GoldStar status. FPP’s now earned 2x faster. You get special GoldStar items, freerolls, and bonuses. Freerolls start becoming a better value for your time at this level! You now qualify for the weekly $20,000 freeroll or $100K monthly freeroll. At this level you can purchase the $285 GoldStar bonus for 25,000 FPP’s. After purchase you have to earn 1,995 base FPP’s within 90 days to clear your bonus. Even though the GoldStar bonus is better than the SilverStar, we still recommended you wait until at least the PlatinumStar to start claiming bonuses. Goldstar status level still earns you 16% to 43% PokerStars Rakeback, depending on stakes, games, and what you redeem at the VIP store.

PlatinumStar – 7500 VPP’s in one month is your earn goal for PlatinumStar status. As a PokerStars PlatinumStar you earn FPPs 2.5x faster than the beginning BronzeStar level. Additional items from the FPP store as a PlatinumStar include major tournaments like the WCOOP and the WSOP. This is the first level we consider purchasing the bonuses like the $650 PlatinumStar bonus for 50,000 FPPs. As all bonuses go you have to earn to clear your bonus. The rate is 4,550 base FPP’s to release your bonus. As a PlatinumStar your Poker Stars rakeback will average between 17% to 46%. Again this depends on the stakes and games you play as well as any redemption you use at the Poker Stars VIP store.

For practical bases we can estimate the value of a FPP at these levels at $.015. This will vary if you redeem all your FPP’s for tournament buy-in’s, in which you could maximize the value of each FPP. This valuation is based on good purchases at the VIP store (where you get higher value from your FPP’s), plus the value of participating in the available freerolls to VIP members. But in terms of estimating a rakeback percentage for these levels, these levels are standardized at $.015.

PokerStars VIP Rakeback – Supernova and Supernova Elite Levels

Supernova – 100,000 VPP’s earned in one year. If you are a serious player, then this will certainly be one of your goals at PokerStars. It doesn’t matter how or when you do this, as long as you reach the 100K VPP mark before January 1st of the next year. (You will keep your Supernova status the following year as long as you earn at least 10,000 VPPs each month). Supernovas earn FPP’s 3.5x faster.

There are many items in the FPP store that are exclusive to only Supernova level players. These include a concierge service where PokerStars will try their best to get you anything you want that isn’t in the VIP store. In some cases they will even reimburse you for your own purchases outside their FIP store. There are very few restrictions to the service and we will explain it in detail below. Utilizing the PokerStars Concierge service is one of the best things you can do with your FPP’s without a doubt.

As a SuperNova you will have access to all the Gold and PlatinumStar freerolls. PokerStars also gives you a special weekly Supernova $50,000 weekly freeroll! You can earn some serious cash by becoming a Supernova as the freerolls are a time worthy event at this level. The bonuses at the SuperNova level are monsters in value. You can purchase the $1500 Supernova bonus for 100K FPP’s. Clearing this bonus will take 10,500 base FPPs within 90 days. At the Supernova level, you can earn anywhere from 25% up to 92% rakeback! We have 83% listed on our chart but there are a few more points you can squeeze out of the SuperNova levels when factoring in the milestones Stars gives you for becoming SuperNova.

In addition to the $1500 SuperNova bonus, you can still grind out even more. Starting at 200K VPP’s you can still earn extra bonuses for each additional 100,000 VPP’s. Here is a chart with more info on this.

Each milestone bonus costs 50,000 FPPs, so bonuses get better as they cost even less as you grow! Clearing them gets easier as well. Each bonus clears at 5x base FPPs and must be earned in 120 days. So if you make it to 200,000 VPPs you will qualify for the $2,000 bonus. You can clear it when you collect 10,000 base FPP’s. This is more money and less time than the $1500 Supernova bonus so you can see the power building as your theo rakeback increases. At the highest milestone bonus for SuperNovas you reach $800k VPP’s. Here you qualify for the $8K bonus and the result is the rakeback equivalent unmatched at any other ‘rakeback’ poker room.

Supernova Elite – 1 Million VPP’s in one year, same rules as SuperNova status except to maintain this level after you reach it you must earn 50,000 VPP’s each month. Supernova Elite isn’t for the casual poker player obviously, it is for the serious grinder who is obsessed with being the best. How long it takes you to earn 1 million VPPs depends on the obvious commitment and stakes you play. But we have seen players actually do this in less than 3 months. So if you are a serious player, you want to look at this on a yearly possibility to at least know where you stand. As SuperNova Elite you earn FPPs 5x’s faster and get all the SuperNova perks plus even more.

As a PokerStars Supernova Elite you will automatically be given free ($2600) entry into the WCOOP main event. You also choose one of the following two options: Option 1: Any two packages from PokerStars Caribbean adventure, WSOP main event, EPT Monte Carlo, APPT Sydney (Each option worth around $13,000) or Option 2: Any one of the prior packages plus $10,000 cash! So just for making it to SuperNova Elite, you will be given nearly $25,000 for major tournaments! Guess what, it doesn’t stop there.

If you thought the Supernova milestone bonuses were good, get ready to really smile. While SuperNova Elite bonuses take the same time to clear as the prior SuperNova level, the actually pay even more.

All these bonuses cost you 50,000 FPP’s, which will be nothing really if you are able to reach this level. You then have to clear 5x the bonus amount in base FPPs within 120 days of each individual purchase. You will earn between 32% to 150% PokerStars Rakeback Equivalent with these bonuses. That’s right, 150% is achievable! So even though PokerStars doesn’t allow direct rakeback thru a rakeback affiliate, you can still potentially earn more than you could from other rakeback programs.
